Polisher on its way to Winnipeg to help fix broken floor in old hospital building
Winnipeg — The Polisher is back in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority has started moving its polisher in an effort to fix a broken floor that has been in a downtown Winnipeg hospital for several years.
The city council on Tuesday approved the project, and the Polisher will be moving from its original site in the basement of the Bloor Street hospital in St. Paul to its new location on the second floor of the Manitoba Health Sciences Centre in the city’s east end.
Mayor Brian Bowman says the Policer is a significant step in the long-term development of Winnipeg’s health system.
He says it will help address some of the concerns about the aging building.
He says the city is committed to working with Manitoba Health Services to ensure the Poliser can operate as it has in the past.
